Recently, I wrote a short article on trucking firm Hilton Haulage about what they were doing for their drivers during Truck Driver Appreciation Week, while speaking with them I mentioned that we often do profiles on truckies that deserve recognition for their hard work. Mack Statue Stolen from Palmerston North Truck Yard

A bulldog statue that has been the pride of a Palmerston North truck yard for 45 years was stolen this week.
The statue was ripped off from MTD Trucks on Malden St last Monday, according to local police.
MTD Trucks general manager Murray Sowerby is gutted about the loss, and describes the statue as being around 1.5m tall by 1m wide.

The Road Transport Forum has presented a $1000 donation to Pukerua Bay School Deputy Principal Andrew Wooster to say ‘thanks’ for the incredible support that the Pukerua Bay community gave to truckies caught up in the State Highway 1 closure on 19 October.
