“Valcomna,” said Mattias Lundholm, Scania NZ Managing Director as he addressed us at the opening of Scania New Zealand’s very first New Zealand-owned and operated state-of-the-art Service Centre.

Having just undertaken their largest project ever in New Zealand, Scania have completed the 5-million-dollar investment in the form of an equipment and fit out hub.

“This is a milestone in Scania’s journey in New Zealand,” Mattias began. “NZ has always been a special market for Scania. We have been present in NZ with distributors for 28 years so there is obviously a history here, in fact, we have more than 4,000 truck and buses on the road here.

“In 2018, a decision was made at Scania to step in and take over distribution. At the start of this year we began with two of us, then 15 and now we are 52. We have three offices (Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch) and now we have a retail/service leg in Drury.”

Why Drury, Would be the obvious question, to which the answer is two-fold. “Actually we didn’t find it, our customers did,” stated Mattias, matter of factly. But that is just one part of the equation. The other is about the customers themselves. Thanks to Scania’s fleet management software, they recognised that many of their trucks were being started towards the south of Auckland, making Drury an ideal and convenient area to satisfy their customers’ Service and Maintenance needs.

And what a place it is. Located in the heart of Drury, South Auckland; Scania is poised to deliver a quality experience from one of New Zealand’s key transport locations. Boasting $5.5 million in parts on the ground, Scania are well equipped to deliver customers more convenience than ever before.

Equipped with a growing team of experienced professionals with the ability to process multiple trucks or busses per day, six days per week, Scania is well prepared to keep kiwi businesses humming.

With an unwavering commitment to sustainability, fuel efficiency, safety and parts/repairs service – delivered across every truck model featuring all the premium and luxury touches Scania is known for – rapid growth is expected.

For more than two decades, Swedish trucking heavyweight Scania has arrived into the country then been customised, showcased and distributed by third party, Cable Price.

But no longer. Scania New Zealand's localised presence is now up and running.

The Service centre is set to be a vast aid to the line of trucks that run down the central North Island daily.
