Among the exhibits on the Mercedes-Benz Trucks stand at the IAA Transportation expo in Hanover during September will be a new Lowliner variant of the eActros 600 electric truck.

The Lowliner expands the eActros lineup with a model designed specifically for volume intensive long haul logistics.

A Lowliner truck has a particularly low trailer coupling height, enabling the transport of goods where space requirements are a key factor – especially tightly packed cargo such as boxed goods.

It’s a 4x2 tractor unit with a 4,000mm wheelbase and coupling heights and ground clearance are comparable to diesel trucks. This allows mega trailers to comply with the legally permitted overall height while providing maximum interior height for volume intensive transport operations.

The dimensions align the electric Lowliner with its diesel counterparts, enabling seamless integration of electric vehicles into existing fleets.

The eActros Lowliner is available with either two or three LFP battery packs, each rated at 207kWh. This results in an installed battery capacity of 414kWh for the eActros 400 Lowliner and 621kWh for the eActros 600 Lowliner.

The range of the eActros 600 Lowliner is approximately on par with that of the standard eActros 600, which achieves a range of 500km without intermediate charging when operated with three battery packs and a gross combination weight of 40 tonnes.

The eActros 400 Lowliner, equipped with two battery packs, has a lower vehicle weight and offers a higher payload than the eActros 600 Lowliner with three battery packs. Due to the weight reduction, the maximum payload of the eActros 400 Lowliner increases to 24t, compared with 21t for the eActros 600 Lowliner.

The Lowliner will be available to order starting in the third quarter of 2026 in the EU30 markets and additional markets. Series production begins in Q2 of 2027 at the Wörth am Rhein plant.
