Freightliner, a leading manufacturer of medium- and heavy-duty trucks and a division of Daimler Truck North America LLC (DTNA), has announced ordering is now available for the highly anticipated Fifth Generation Freightliner Cascadia. This latest addition to the Freightliner family continues the legacy of the industry’s most popular Class 8 truck, setting new standards in safety, efficiency and profitability.
“The Freightliner Cascadia has earned its place as the preferred truck for customers of all sizes because of its ability to meet operational needs - safely, efficiently and profitably,” said David Carson, senior vice president, sales and marketing, DTNA. “We’re honored to offer the successor to that legacy with the Fifth Generation, and we’re excited to begin customer deliveries in the coming months. My sincere gratitude to all the DTNA employees who have worked to bring the future forward and here's to those customers who are ready for what's next.”
Notable enhancements to the newest Cascadia include the latest generation of the Detroit Assurance Suite of Safety Systems with Active Brake Assist 6 (ABA6), refined aerodynamic improvements and all-new business intelligence tools to maximize profitability. Detroit Assurance with ABA6 introduces new capabilities to add automatic braking in more scenarios for enhanced collision avoidance assistance. New, streamlined components like the Max Aero Bumper, front wheel well closeouts, and a redesigned hood work together to reduce drag and improve efficiency. An updated technology platform allows real-time tracking of trucks, adds the ability to remotely lock and unlock vehicles, and allows you to create custom zones, or geofences, over a desired geographic area.
