Hall’s Group are expanding with multi-million-dollar Waikato site

Last year, Hall’s announced the opening of its new Longburn Transport site, which, combined with Hall’s Storage and Manawatu Inland Port, established a robust logistics hub servicing the Lower North Island and beyond. This strategic move bolstered the company’s supply chain capabilities and underscored its commitment to delivering temperature-controlled solutions nationwide.

Now, Hall’s is pleased to announce its latest multi-million-dollar investment: a new Transport cross-dock and Storage facility in Horotiu. Situated in the same business park as major industry players AFFCO and Open Country Dairy, this new facility will further strengthen Hall’s position in New Zealand’s ‘golden triangle.’ Recognized as a critical driver of the country’s economy, the golden triangle supports approximately 42% of the nation’s freight and over 45% of its population through an extensive network of ports, roads, and communication infrastructure.

This ambitious two-phase project – comprising a transport facility in Phase 1 and a storage facility in Phase 2 – is designed to reinforce Hall’s national distribution capabilities. Alongside fleet upgrades, including new trucks and trailers, this investment reflects Hall’s ongoing commitment to solidify its status as the premier provider of cold chain solutions in New Zealand.

Hall’s unique nationwide operation already encompasses over 730 team members, nine storage facilities, 640+ specialist vehicles, and 11 cross-dock depots, enabling service to over 2,500 unique delivery points each week. The new Horotiu facility will seamlessly integrate into this network, delivering state-of-the-art logistics solutions for chilled, frozen, and ambient freight while meeting growing demands in the region and beyond.
