There were 350 registrations of new trucks with a GVM above 4.5 tonnes (compared to 341 for the previous month). It’s still a long way behind last October’s 525 registrations and the year-to-date (YTD) total has now reached 3,174 units in the first ten months of 2025 (down from 4,719 units registered in the same period last year).
The trailer market YTD total stands at 794 – again a long way behind last year’s October YTD of 1,232…and still a long way behind 2018’s all-time best 1458.
In the overall truck market (4.5t-maximum GVM), Isuzu with 55 registrations led the October market and maintains its YTD lead with 584 new units registered. There’s now a tie for second-place with Fuso registering an impressive 46 units in October for a YTD total of 452 registrations, equal with Hino (452/37).

Scania (299/25) retains fourth place ahead of Iveco (238/42). Kenworth (181/14) remains in sixth, while Mercedes-Benz (173/46) had a strong month to move ahead of Volvo (170/7). DAF (119/6) retains ninth ahead of UD (112/15) to round out the top-10 brands.
In the 3.5-4.5t GVM crossover segment, leader Fiat (313/84) continues to extend its lead and LDV (278/74) moves ahead of Mercedes-Benz (258/35).
Registrations in the 4.5-7.5t category saw Isuzu (207/21) retain its lead over Fuso (189/24), with Iveco (154/30) holding third followed by Mercedes-Benz (125/41) who were the standout for the month with 41 registrations.
In the 7.5-15t class, Isuzu (258/20) is extending its lead over Hino (158/11), while Fuso (126/6) stays in third. Foton (33/2) and Hyundai (33/3) are tied in fourth, well behind the top-three. Isuzu’s share in this class currently sits at 38.6%.
In the 15-20.5t GVM category, Hino (53/8) continues to lead ahead of Fuso (21/2) while UD (17/4) retains third ahead of Iveco (11/2) and Volvo (8/0) in fifth.
In the tiny 20.5-23t GVM division there were only two registrations during October. Hino (14/1) retains the top spot ahead of Scania (9/1) and Isuzu (2/0).
In the premium 23t-maximum GVM category, Scania (281/22) is pushing further ahead with its lead, registering 22 for the month to take its YTD total to 281.
Kenworth (181/14) remains in second YTD ahead of Volvo (162/7), followed by Hino (128/5), DAF (119/6), Fuso (115/14), Isuzu (110/13), UD (92/910, Iveco (55/9) and Mercedes-Benz (40/5) to round out the top-10, with all brands retaining the same positions as last month.
Market leader Fruehauf remains comfortably ahead in YTD trailer sales, with 135 registrations YTD. Its 21 regos in October were the highest for the month, and Fruehauf is now sitting 52 registrations ahead with a strong 18.7% market share.
Patchell (83/18) had a good month with 18 registrations and retains second while the rest of the top-10 retained their positions headed by Transport Trailers (60/2), Roadmaster (51/10), Domett (48/9), TMC (38/2), M.T.E (36/4), TES (35/3) and Transfleet (31/3) and Fairfax (26/2).
