When was the last time your truck and trailer had an alignment check?
Posted on 16-Apr-2026
Heavy vehicle wheel alignments must be one of the most overlooked maintenance services that the transport industry faces today. With the increasing deterioration of New Zealand’s roads, component failure and tyre wear are big factors in the life of a truck in this day and age.
Benefits of wheel alignments - A correctly aligned truck will be easier to drive, cause the driver less fatigue, and have better tyre wear, along with better fuel economy. In a time where Health and Safety is at the forefront of importance, heavy...

It’s been another week dominated by fuel price rises and increasing pressure on freight operators. Despite these record operator costs, trucks continue their essential work.

It typically provides up to a six-month lead on momentum in the economy, with variation reflecting discretionary spending on outings, movement of couriers and tradespeople etc. Light traffic had been lifting strongly but reversed course in March.

The Green Party is calling on petrol companies to act quickly following the announcement of a two-week ceasefire that has caused the price of fuel to drop.
"Fuel companies moved quickly to increase their prices at the start of the conflict. With prices falling off the back of the ceasefire, they need to come down just as fast," says Green Party Co-leader Chlöe Swarbrick.
"New Zealanders watch petrol prices jump up overnight when global oil prices spike, but when they fall, it always seems to take weeks for that t...
