Auckland's First Permanent Non Potable Tanker Filling Station Brought Into Service

Watercare has brought into service Auckland’s first permanent non-potable tanker filling station in Māngere, easing demand on the city’s drinking water supply.

The $1.2 million tanker filling station replaces the temporary non potable tanker filling station in Penrose, which has been providing untreated water for non-drinking purposes to commercial customers since 2020.

Overnight Shift Of SH1 Northbound Traffic

As part of the State Highway 1 Papakura to Drury project, NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA) advises the two northbound lanes on SH1 between Drury Interchange and the BP motorway service centre will be shifted westward overnight on Sunday 6 April, weather permitting.

Rail Minister Winston Peters has described KiwiRail’s payment of $8 million to a management consultancy firm as unacceptable. 

“We are not criticising McKinsey, whose services were tendered in a lawful and competitive manner. We are criticising the decision to pay that sum,” says Mr Peters.

Plan Ahead For 24/7 Closure Of SH12 Matakohe

NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA) contractors will undertake road rebuild and subsidence repair works at two locations on State Highway 12 at Matakohe, beginning next week.

From Monday 7 April to Thursday 17 April, SH12 will be closed 24/7 between Matakohe West Road and Old Racecourse Road. During this time, westbound traffic will be detoured from SH12 onto Old Racecourse Road, then Matakohe East/West Road, before rejoining SH12. Eastbound traffic will take the same detour, in reverse.
